چکیده
The screen-printed electrode (SPE) sensor is widelyemployedin food analysis, environmental health monitoring, disease detection, toxin detectionandother applications. As it crucial for the SPE to have an outstanding performance, this study examined effects of manipulatingthe working electrode(WE)radius, gap spacing between electrodes, and counter (CE) width on performance sensor.Finite element simulation various geometrical dimensions was done prior sensor’s fabrication at Jabil Circuits Sdn Bhd.The electrodes measured throughcyclic voltammetry (CV)using a potentiostat optimum scan rate of0.01 V/s andavoltammetry potential window range -0.2 0.8 Vin 0.01 MPhosphate Buffered Saline (PBS) solution. It discovered that adjusting WE area separation had most impact compared varying CE width. In both CV measurements, with highestradius 0.9 mmwith aneffectivearea 2.54 mm2, smallestgap 0.7 mm has shown highest current density 0.04 A/mm2(simulation) 0.3 μA/mm2(experiment) which can be translated as sensitivity sensor.Further measurement in nicotine sensing application proven effectively detect oxidation indicating itspromising biosensor. Combination dimension together suitableelectrode modificationprocessservesas basis effective sensitive biosensing applications.

متن کاملElectroanalytical Sensing of Flunitrazepam Based on Screen Printed Graphene Electrodes
We present a new electrochemical sensor for Flunitrazepam using disposable and economic Screen Printed Graphene Electrodes. It was found that the electrochemical response of this sensor was improved compared to Screen Printed Graphite Electrodes and displayed an excellent analytical performance for the detection of Flunitrazepam. Those characteristics could be attributed to the high Flunitrazep...

An electrochemical cell coupled with disposable screen-printed electrodes (SPEs) that is specifically designed for use in flow injection analysis (FIA) is described in this study. The cell is made of foldable polyoxymethylene (acetal) thick platelets with the bottom portion consisting of a cavity track to drag the SPEs in position and the top portion having predrilled T-like holes to arrange th...
متن کاملElectrochemical Affinity Biosensors Based on Disposable Screen-Printed Electrodes for Detection of Food Allergens
Food allergens are proteins from nuts and tree nuts, fish, shellfish, wheat, soy, eggs or milk which trigger severe adverse reactions in the human body, involving IgE-type antibodies. Sensitive detection of allergens in a large variety of food matrices has become increasingly important considering the emergence of functional foods and new food manufacturing technologies. For example, proteins s...
متن کاملElectrochemical Characterization of Graphene and MWCNT Screen-Printed Electrodes Modified with AuNPs for Laccase Biosensor Development
The aim of this work is to show how the integration of gold nanoparticles (AuNPs) into multi-wall-carbon-nanotubes (MWCNTs) based screen-printed electrodes and into graphene-based screen-printed electrodes (GPHs) could represent a potential way to further enhance the electrochemical properties of those electrodes based on nanoparticles. Laccase from Trametes versicolor (TvL) was immobilized ove...
